Tour code 1: Gulflander Indulgence
Day 1 - Monday
Begin your unique outback adventure from Cairns with a 6:30am departure on Trans North Coaches. Sit back and relax whilst travelling through world heritage listed rainforest past Kuranda then onto the remote, untamed reaches of the outback. Travelling west you will travel through towns including Atherton, Mt Garnet, Croydon and then onto Karumba. Stay the night at the End of the Road Motel in Karumba and enjoy a glass of champagne whilst enjoying the famous 'Purple Sunset' over the Gulf Waters.
Depending on time of year passengers may miss sunset.

Day 2 - Tuesday
Today is yours to spend relaxing in Kurumba. For those of you wanting a little more excitement why not try your luck with Barra fishing or take a cruise along the beautiful Norman River. Spend the evening at End of the Road Motel.

Day 3 - Wednesday
Wake up early for breakfast then transfer to Normanton before heading off on your trip from Nowhere to Nowhere aboard the Gulflander, also fondly known to the locals as the Rattler and the Tin Hare. Travelling to Croydon 140 kilometres through some of the most remote and inaccessible countryside on the Queensland map, you will experience the amazing outback diversity from Wetlands and Grasslands to arid Savannah country. This is old gold territory with a history to match the incredible terrain. Opened in 1891 to join Normanton to the teeming Croydon goldfields, the line has never been linked to the main Queensland Rail network. Arrive in Croydon in perfect time for a relaxing lunch, then enjoy the afternoon exploring this old township which was home to 26 hotels during the gold rush. Many of these old buildings have survived the years, like the heritage listed courthouse and general store, which has traded since 1894. Spend the evening at the Club Hotel.

Day 4 - Thursday
Enjoy a relaxing sleep-in and breakfast before departing on Trans North Coaches at 10.00am travelling to Georgetown for a quick bite to eat and a browse through the Terrestrial Geographical Display. Transfer to Cobbold Gorge where you will enjoy a quiet boat cruise viewing this ancient site with its soaring sandstone cliffs, this is a breathtaking experience not to be missed. The coach will then transfer you to Forsayth to stay at the Forsayth Tourist Park with an evening getting to know the locals.

Day 5 - Friday
Enjoy an early breakfast before boarding the Savannahlander at 8.45am. Marvel at the Einasleigh range before arriving in Mt Surprise. Continue through to Undara Experience and spend the afternoon with a Savannah Guide exploring the amazing Undara Lava Tubes. Enjoy your evening at Undara Experience in your very own beautifully restored, turn of the century Queensland Rail carriage.

Day 6 - Saturday
The Savannahlander awaits your arrival to take you back to Cairns. Travelling on the Savannahlander your friendly drivers will stop and show you the outback as never seen before, travel through the remote, untamed reaches of the outback, passing Kuranda then through world heritage listed rainforest back to Cairns. This being the home run, sit back, relax and reflect on this ultimate outback rail experience.

Day 1 - Monday

Wake up in your own time to enjoy the day in Normanton. Try some Barramundi fishing, or just explore this outback town. Spend the night at the Gulfland Motel.

Wake up early before heading off on your trip aboard the Gulflander. Travelling to Croydon through some of the most remote and inaccessible countryside on the Queensland map, you will experience the amazing outback diversity from Wetlands and Grasslands to arid Savannah country. Keep an eye out for native Australian Wildlife quenching their thirst at the waterholes. Spend the evening in the Club Hotel.

Day 4 - Thursday
Enjoy a sleep-in and breakfast before departing on Trans North Coaches at 10.00am travelling to Georgetown for a browse through the Terrestrial Geographical Display. Day 1 - Monday
Begin your adventure from Cairns. Journey through tropical rainforest past Kuranda then on to the outback. Travelling west you will pass towns including Atherton, Mt Garnett, Croydon and then onto Normanton. Stay the night at the Purple Pub for real outback hospitality.

Day 2 - Tuesday
Spend a relaxing day in Normanton. Try your luck with a spot of Barramundi fishing, explore the town or just sit back and enjoy a coldie at the Purple Pub.

Depart on Trans North Coaches mid morning to Georgetown. Stop in Georgetown for a short lunch break before heading out to Cobbold Gorge, observe the majestic sandstone cliffs and imposing rock formations. Settle back for the evening at the Goldfields Tavern.

Board the Savannahlander and travel to Mt Surprise. Be escorted on an Undara Lava Tubes tour with your Savannah Guide. Relax at the Mount Surprise Hotel.
